Becky Esquibel has always loved to learn and try new things. She genuinely loved going to school as a child and especially loved any time her small family would travel, (which was not very often, and never out of the state). She was home-schooled in Bakersfield for almost 3 years before the family moved to a small town in Northern California. The highlight of those years stands out to Becky as the year they learned world geography. Becky's mom used several methods of training them to memorize the countries of the world by shape and location. Becky went on to win the geography bee at age 10.

Many years later, as a Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (medical imaging using radioactive isotopes), she had advanced in her career and was really good at her job, but wasn't learning anything new. She was working at a small hospital in her childhood hometown of Yreka, California in 2019 when Covid happened. She began researching her next trip with her teenage children at every chance she could get and filled her mind with learning about the destinations. She ended up creating detailed itineraries for their trip to the Grand Canyon in 2020, the Big Island Hawaii in 2021, and a cruise to Los Cabos in 2022. She went into great detail with the itineraries, and gave her kids a manual with helpful hints about the culture, history, food, and common language they could use. She researched what places they should go in each location while focusing on authentic cultural immersion, supporting local businesses, and protecting the environment.

She realized how much joy this brought her. Not just the traveling experience, but the planning experience. This is why she, (encouraged by her massage therapist), decided to start the process of learning to be a real travel agent. At first she thought that it would be easy, and the training would only take a few days, but she soon learned that it was a very big commitment. She went through a rigorous training and certification program and graduated in January of 2023. She also took extensive courses in the travel suppliers she would be partnering with and the locations she wanted to become an expert in. Becky is satisfied knowing she will never reach the end of learning about the world. She continues her courses regularly and travels as often as she can in order to familiarize herself with the world.

Experience Joy Travel Company LLC was born on March 27th, 2023. Becky is extremely proud of her progress since then and is very active in her networking community.
